We’re excited to share that Allwaters has now been designated as the winningconsortium to establish the EIT Water
On 11 November, the Allwaters Interim Management Team members Hero Prins (CEO), Charlotte Knowles (CFO) and Alison Cavey (COO) together with Michelle Williams as representative of the Coordinator (Aarhus University) were invited top resent the Allwaters proposal to the EIT Governing Board. The presentation was followed by a discussion of key aspects regarding the preparedness of the team, the quality of the proposal and the plans for establishing the new EIT Community for Water Innovation.
EIT Water will implement plan in 2026
The headquarter will be located in Aarhus, Denmark, with eight Co-Location Centers (CLCs) to be established with existing innovation ecosystem in Germany, Bulgaria, Austria, Croatia, Spain, the UK, Denmark and Belgium to cover all regions across Europe. The CLCs will ensure that the EIT Water remains place-based and consultative in collaboration with the Chief Community Officer Balazs Furjes (CCO). With this structure, the values of Allwaters as an open and inclusive community can continue as important features of EIT Water.
“We are truly honoured to lead EIT Water and to help shape Europe’s response
to one of its most pressing challenges. Water is life – and safeguarding it requires innovation, collaboration, and commitment. Together with the EIT and our partners across Europe,
we look forward to developing solutions that make our water systems more resilient,
circular, and sustainable for generations to come.”
Michelle Williams, Coordinator, Aarhus University (Allwaters consortium)
